A place to call my own

December 1, 2024

I’ve been thinking a lot about having a space that feels truly mine. A place to share the occasional project I’m proud of, without handing it over to platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok or Snapchat. These companies treat our content as if it’s theirs, constantly changing formats and pulling the rug out from under users to chase “engagement.”

That’s not what I’m here for. I don’t share photos to rack up likes or build an audience. My projects, words, and musings exist for their own sake. If you enjoy them, that’s great. If not, that’s fine too. I won’t miss being a fleeting blip in your endless social feed, or yet another tile in a never-ending photo stream.

There was something special about the internet when more people had personal websites—spaces free from algorithms, trends, and the pressure to compete for attention. Back then, it wasn’t about chasing likes or followers; it was about sharing pieces of yourself.

This space is my nod to that simpler time. No likes, no metrics, no games—just a place I can call my own.
