Back to the roots of content sharing

December 12, 2024

For me, this personal site is a space to stay hands-on, experiment with new (and old) technologies, and really understand how things work. Adding an RSS feed is a way to embrace a foundational, open-web technology. It’s simple, free, and anyone can subscribe to get updates. Yes, even if my updates are infrequent — I’m working on it!

I’ve stepped away from Twitter and moved to Mastodon, enjoying the benefits of a community-driven, decentralized platform. This shift has made me rethink how I consume content: less scrolling, more meaningful reading. Apps like Reeder (for macOS and iOS) have been game-changers, allowing me to curate feeds from voices I genuinely want to hear — on my time, without ads or algorithms.

I’ve learned so much from people who take the time to share their knowledge online. I want to keep discovering authentic content, free from algorithmic noise and marketing agendas. If you’re considering owning and sharing your own content, RSS is a simple, effective step back to the roots of the open web.

Happy reading, and here’s to more of your content, not theirs!

I’ve just added an RSS feed to this site! If you use an RSS reader and want updates, subscribe here.
